Opticon 2025 lit up New York City earlier this month, and as an Optimizely Gold Partner, we were right in the middle of it all. From booth conversations and client dinners to AI-driven sessions and late-night city explorations, this year’s event gave us plenty to think about (and plenty of memories).
The keynote set the tone: Optimizely isn’t just building tools anymore; It’s building an AI-first ecosystem. The big spotlight was on Opal, their agent orchestration platform, which now brings together dozens of pre-built AI agents (think: content drafting, compliance, analytics) with the option to build custom ones.
A few things stood out:
Integration everywhere. The new Slack integration means you can now bring AI agents right into the conversations where your team already works.
No more silos. Instead of juggling point solutions, you can connect workflows, data sources, and apps directly into Opal.
Agent Configurators. A new buzzword for a new kind of role — technologists embedded directly in business teams to make AI useful right where the work happens.
The takeaway? It’s not about having AI on the side — it’s about weaving it into the way organizations actually run.
Between keynotes and breakouts, a few themes kept popping up:
Experimentation is evolving. A/B testing and personalization are still critical, but AI is accelerating the speed and scale at which teams can act on insights.
Content pipelines matter more than ever. With AI helping generate and optimize, governance and workflows are now the deciding factors in quality.
Readiness is key. Without clean data, clear roles, and governance, even the most powerful AI initiatives stall.
We also loved the practical sessions — from hands-on workshops with Opal to partner-led explorations of SaaS CMS and personalization strategies.
This year, we went beyond just attending.
Booth sponsorship: We had a steady stream of conversations at our booth — everything from technical deep dives to quick introductions.
Lanyard sponsor: If you wore a badge at Opticon 2025, yep, that was us keeping it comfortably around your neck all day.
Client connections: We were fortunate to bring several of our clients along to experience Opticon firsthand — the perfect mix of learning and networking.
Harvard Club lunch: One of the highlights for us was hosting a lunch at the Harvard Club. Great food, great conversation, and a chance to connect outside the bustle of the main event.
NYC moments: Of course, no trip to New York is complete without exploring the city together. And our team enjoyed every minute.
Opticon 2025 wasn’t just about flashy announcements, it was about showing where digital experience is headed: agentic, orchestrated, and built on strong foundations.
For us, it was also about people. We came back energized by the conversations we had with clients, partners, and new connections. The future of experimentation, personalization, and content management is bright, and we’re excited to help our clients get there.
If you couldn’t make it to Opticon — or if you did and want to dig deeper into what’s next for your organization — let’s talk. We’d love to share what we presented, what we learned, and how it applies to your business so you can start unlocking the most value. As an Optimizely Gold Partner, we’re ready to help you take the next step.
